With security threats and nefarious tactics becoming ever more advanced, the cybersecurity industry must evolve in parallel. To aid in that evolution, this July we’re enhancing the IT Specialist Cybersecurity exam. Among other modifications, the exam will:
- Evaluate ability to identify anomalies during log analysis   
- Confirm candidates can recognize the latest social engineering attacks 
- Assess a basic understanding of cloud security infrastructure concepts
- Include more emphasis on cybersecurity frameworks and best practices

What won’t change? The exam will continue to assess the foundational cybersecurity skills required for success in the field.
Two-for-one achievement opportunity
Currently, the IT Specialist Cybersecurity and Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity exams are the same. From now through the end of June 2024, candidates who earn an IT Specialist Cybersecurity certification will also have access to the CCST Cybersecurity branded certificate and badge. Users who have passed the existing IT Specialist Cybersecurity exam have until June 30, 2024, to claim their Cisco Cybersecurity certificate and badge.
